Annual Public Service Events

DCARA usually participates in these annual events in and around Denton County:

Turkey Roll

This event is one of the largest in Denton county and one of DCARA’s biggest Public Service events. Usually held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Turkey Roll has multiple routes (from 8 to 62 miles). Many volunteers are needed to staff the various route checkpoints, sag wagons, and officials for the event. It’s a great way to spend a fall afternoon!

• Tour de Cure 2024 – Sat Oct 26th
  This Saturday, October 26th, the American Diabetes Association will be hosting the Tour de Cure bike rally. This event is based out of the Prosper/McKinney/Celina/Gunter area. The event will consist of a start/finish area and 3 rest stops along the course. There are 4 courses, the longest being 62 miles. • Denton County Prepardness Fair – September 28th
  The 2nd annual Denton County Preparedness Fair is this Saturday, September 28th, 10am to 2pm. Located at 1Courthouse Drive, Denton, Tx 76208. FREE Admission, Food, Booths, Games, Emergency apparatus of all kinds will be present.Denton County ARES and DCARA will have a booth and equipment there. Setup starts at 8am.Fun for the whole family.
