Winter Field Day 2024

Dust off your winter gear and bundle up. We are getting ready to kick off the new year with the second annual Winter Field Day. We will begin setting up in Pilot Knoll Park, 218A Orchid Hill Rd., Argyle, TX 76226, on Friday, January 26 at approximately 1:00 pm
CST. Setup will be at the Post Oak pavilion and should take only a couple of hours. We will return around 9:00 am Saturday with breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana and coffee, do a final check on equipment, and get ready to transmit.

Saturday at 1:00 pm CST, we start making contacts! We will have several stations setup utilizing Georgetown, e-comm trailer, and the antenna trailer. Around 5:00 pm CST, we will have BBQ provided by
Andrew, KE5GDB. Sunday at 1:00 pm CST, we wrap things up and begin tear down. It would be very appreciated if we could have a couple of volunteers to stay for a couple hours to pack things up.

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing as we all know the end of January tends to bring some blustery winter weather. This will be a great test of emergency preparedness as radio operation during an
emergency may not have ideal weather conditions. The public is invited so tell your friends and have them come on out to see what is involved with amateur radio communications during an emergency. If you would like to volunteer, have questions, or comments, please email Curtis Anthony at kf5pgm@gmail.com.
