The 2023 DCARA Christmas Dinner was held on December 9th at the Denton County Administrative Courthouse. There was a good crowd to enjoy the delicious barbecue. Sam Lovett KI5RSV was presented with the 2023 Hiram Percy Maxim Young Ham of the Year Award by ARRL West Gulf Division Director John Stratton and North Texas Section Manager Steve Smith. In addition, Sam was awarded a commendation from the Denton County Commissioner’s Court. Several other Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to other DCARA members for work done in 2023 and before.
There was a Dessert Contest, and the winners were: For Best Looking Dessert – , and For Best Tasting Dessert – . There were also many door prizes – both ham and non-ham – so everyone left with something!
